Someone Has To Be Brave
One of the hardest conversations nobody wants to have?
Estrangement from adult children.
Not every parent is abusive.
Not every adult child is “ungrateful.”
And not every separation is about hatred.
Sometimes estrangement is about unresolved trauma.
Sometimes it’s about boundaries.
Sometimes it’s about pathology.
Sometimes it’s about generational pain, untreated mental illness, addiction, manipulation, favoritism, silence, shame, or years of emotional injuries that nobody addressed.
And sometimes…
people are grieving each other while both are still alive.
On my podcast, we’re going there.
The REAL conversations.
The uncomfortable conversations.
The conversations families avoid while pretending everything is fine.
Because healing does not happen in denial.
As a multi-state licensed clinician, I want to say this clearly:
Understanding behavior does not excuse behavior.
But if we never understand the “why,” we keep repeating the wound.
If you’ve experienced estrangement as a parent, adult child, grandparent, sibling, or caregiver—you are not alone.
We’re talking about it.
Respectfully.
Honestly.
Without the fake social media masks.
